FINAL Contents Page

This is my contents page for my music magazine. I was influenced by NME's contents pages, and added my own touch. All of the images are my own, and have edited three of the images to make them brighter, or stand out.

I wanted to make the picture a bit lighter, and so I used the Hue and Saturation bars and made the image that also appears on the double page spread, a lot brighter. I think this makes it even more easier to establish who the feature artist is. 

I found a really handy technique to make the model standing infront of a MTV Video Award backdrop. I used 'Gaussian Blur' to blur the backdrop out of focus to make it look like she was actually there. 

On this screenshot, you can see that I am altering the brightness and contrast of an image used on my contents page.

After taking my image and closely scrutinising it for any faults, I found that I wanted to hide some spots on the models face. By clicking on the area I wanted to treat, it got rid of the blemishes and made them unnoticeable. 

Double Page Spread Drafts

This is my first double page spread draft. Originally, I wanted three images like that on my page, and then the blue backgrounds on the main text, which was featured on the front page too. However, I then created a draft double page spread (below), which featured the same 'Bryn Stagg' title as it did on the front page, and that looked a lot better and more professional, and so I went with that. 

This is my second double page spread draft, which was originally going to be my final one, however, I realised that the Bryn Stagg title needed to be at the top as it looked just the exact same as the front cover with the title in the same place. In addition to this, I also changed the interview layout, as the text looks all over the place on this version.

Contents Page Draft

This is my contents page draft, I took influence from several NME magazines, and wanted my images scattered around the page. However, as I was rushing it, I didn't make it very professional or realistic. I kept some of the same in my final contents page, such as the way '6 STRINGS' is written, although I did change the 'INSIDE OF' on my final contents page, to make it black so the name of the magazine stood out more.

Double Page Spread Influences

These NME double page spreads are ones I've found and really liked. The top left one caught my eye because of the title quote. "People think I'm an attention seeker, but I'm just honest" is quite a controversial sentence, and therefore it works really well with the white messy writing which each letter is different in a word, and stands in front of dark black outlines.
